How To Help Your Child Focus On Their Homework
If your child resists doing homework, and it's a bit of a "battle", I've got five successfully tried and tested tips I can share to make it easier for them and you!
I'll write one in this update, and if you'd like 4 more, please respond with a "YES" or message me here and I'll send them over to you personally. I'll make a little infographic in Canva!
Tip 1 to make homework fun: Encourage your child to use a timer to sit for short periods of time to focus on their homework, try 5 minutes for starters. When the timer goes off, they can stop if they like to head off and play. Get into a little routine of doing this every day. You can gradually add on a minute here and there.
Hope that helps.

In other news, I've got two new part-time roles: One as a freelance tutor working with SEN kids in their homes who have been diagnosed with "PDA" - pathological demand avoidance (I can see traits of it in myself) and the other is for the University of Surrey and ZERO Carbon Guildford as a Network/Project Officer for the "Sustainable Business Network". Both use my teaching/facilitation skills in different ways and fit flexibly around my existing tutoring/coaching clients and family life.
I'll keep you posted.
Let me know about the homework tips.
And anything else you'd find useful right now.
Jane
